America's Abortion Pain

Dislodging America’s Abortion Pain

by | Jan 16, 2017

Today we stand at a new point in America’s history with abortion. This week’s Presidential Inauguration is set to usher in tremendous reform over all areas of American’s abortion legislation. Luke 3:9 (NIV) gives a literal perspective on this transition – The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

The battle that will soon be waged in our legislatures, communities and churches over the legality of abortion is certain to dislodge the pain of a massive demographic that comprises one third of American women – the post-abortive.

Every time the word “abortion” is mentioned – either positively or negatively – the pain of a past abortion is often dislodged. The expected media firestorm over efforts to defund Planned Parenthood and the prosecution of those involved in the sale of aborted children’s body parts is certain. With every subpoenaed revelation of the business practices of the abortion industry, Americans will begin to finally comprehend the barbarity and cruelty post-abortive women have endured.

Compassion and understanding towards the post-abortive will then begin to flow out.  That empathy will lead to a deep enlightenment in post-abortive hearts, described in Isaiah 42:16 (NIV) – I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.

Many of these wounded hearts will finally realize they are not alone in the deep pain they endure whenever the abortion term is spoken. Tens of thousands will be encouraged to release their abortion secret by seeking out recovery programs to discover God’s healing.  The result of this healing will impact many American families as women are enabled to be better wives, daughters, mothers, aunts, friends, etc.

Similar to the World War II war crime trials in Nuremberg, Germany – which prosecuted the Nazi’s for killing millions – the abortion industry will likely receive a similar fate. The post-abortive will be revealed as modern-day concentration camp survivors, finally released from their prison of self-torment.

Ramah International was founded in 1997 with the launch of the first version of my book, Her Choice to Heal: Finding Spiritual and Emotional Peace After Abortion. In my previous position serving Focus on the Family’s Crisis Pregnancy ministries (1991-1998), I saw how few ministry resources were directed at reaching abortion’s wounded hearts.

Thankfully, Ramah International has been uniquely poised to help address the spiritual and emotional needs of America’s post-abortive demographic. Today we stand, waiting in deeper faith than ever before, anticipating a whole new civil rights battle, designed to reduce America’s horrific involvement in the systematic destruction of the lives of our tiniest citizens. But we can’t do it alone!

Ramah International is one of the few dedicated non-profit 501(c)3 ministries working to train and equip pregnancy center and church leaders in helping women who may be considering abortion or struggling after an abortion.

Our twenty years of ministry efforts to develop local abortion recovery program ministry startups around the U.S., as well as the world, has led to a strong foundation in helping those who will soon turn to us for help. Within the coming months, the need to expand our ministry organization is critically obvious.

Because Ramah International’s abortion recovery program – Her Choice to Heal: Finding Spiritual and Emotional Peace After Abortion – is widely received and used at the local level, we are now working to develop an on-line forum to explode ministry outreach to abortion’s wounded hearts. Ramah is seeking $150,000 to underwrite start-up expenses associated with this unique effort, now under construction at www.herchoicetoheal.com.

It is truly a joy to identify like-minded partners who are committed to support the spiritual and emotional needs of women in the wake of an abortion by increasing public awareness of post-abortive trauma. We simply must do more in the future and need your financial support and prayers. Can you help us?

Personally, I take no credit for having the faith required to leave a steady paycheck at Focus on the Family in 1997 to start Ramah’s ministry efforts. Without God’s specific hounding, I would not be enjoying Ramah’s 20th anniversary of ministry service. God could have found someone else but I’m glad He chose me, for such a time as this.

The need to promote God’s peace to the America’s post-abortive demographic is something that must be addressed. In Isaiah 40:31 (NIV), God offers a vision of what His power through our lives can accomplish – but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint
