Google Adwords and Abortion

Google’s Abortion Tyranny

by | Jun 4, 2019

Last week Internet giant, Google, BANNED pro-life pregnancy centers from buying Adwords related to the term, “abortion.” Organizations or authors of abortion recovery programs can no longer buy advertising through Google using keywords related to anything abortion.

Organizations must now be “certified.” If you are not certified as actually offering abortion services, you won’t be able to run ads using keywords related to getting an abortion.

Google’s new advertising policy defined who would be targeted: “… organizations that provide pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, abortion counseling, general abortion information, abortion referrals, or that otherwise serve pregnant women but do not provide abortions…” and “advertisers promoting non-service-based abortion content—for examplebooks about abortion or perspectives on abortion…” If you don’t provide abortion services, you will be identified with an automatic in-ad disclosure that will show on ALL search ads.

Ramah International has already experienced censorship from IT Giant Facebook through shadow banning. Shadow banning is the act of blocking or partially blocking a user or their content from an online community such that it will not be readily apparent to the user that they have been banned.

My blogs on abortion trauma and healing posted and boosted through Facebook would garner thousands of viewers each week in years past. We noticed an abrupt change when I posted my blog entitled, “Is Abortion a Sin?” Today if we “boost” a post on Facebook, we are nearly guaranteeing no one will ever see it.

Google has 90.46% of the search engine market share worldwide. Their decision effectively ends the free speech of anyone who wants to provide women with other choices besides abortion. In marketing my book, Her Choice to Heal: Finding Spiritual and Emotional Peace After Abortion, I cannot purchase abortion keywords.

Thankfully, we don’t purchase Google keyword advertising, nor have we ever recommended them to pregnancy centers. It never struck me as wise to trust pro-abortion Google with grant funds or precious donations to market life-loving centers online. With Google producing the ad result reports, how could anyone trust how those funds were being used?

Women are more likely to visit a high-ranked organic SEO listing on the first page of their searches than clicking a paid Adword. Paid advertisements are designed to get your marketing attention but not necessarily provide you with the information you are searching for.

In marketing Her Choice to Heal, we rely on organic SEO listings. But the idea that I’m forbidden from buying keywords for a word that is in my book’s title reveals an activity that could end our civil liberties, particularly those who stand against abortion.

Here’s where it gets even spookier. Should a pregnancy center submit to Google’s new certification process, and self-identify as not offering abortions, they will likely be suppressed on Google and among other IT Giants.

Most IT Giants share the same pro-abortion agenda, so the websites, social media pages and anything related to pregnancy centers who self-identify as not offering abortion services could be suppressed. Essentially, the organization may endure a form of online termination.

Google’s announcement is reminiscent of King Solomon’s words from Ecclesiastes 1:9 – What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

Google’s pro-abortion certification reminds me of my mother’s stories of growing up during World War II in Ireland and Great Britain. On November 23 , 1939, Jewish people in Germany were ordered to wear the Star of David emblem on their clothes. This helped identify them more easily. In modern terms, they had to self-identify as Jews.

It didn’t take long for Jews to become the targets of German outrage and scorn. Simply walking down the street with the Star of David emblem resulted in overt persecution.

In the following days, more rights were removed from these children of God, beginning with their German citizenship being revoked. Other Germans lived in fear of the Nazis turning on them for any reason. Few were willing to openly oppose the Nazis. More than 6,000,000 Jews and millions of others lost their lives in that dark period of history which began with the self-identification of the Jews.

My mother’s uncle was a British soldier in those days. He was captured by the Germans early in the war and spent five years in forced prison servitude at a notorious Nazi concentration camp. My Great Uncle visually realized the German blood lust regarding the Jews as the railroad cars arrived. He lived to talk about it with my Mother, his niece.

Many pregnancy centers are sitting in a similar spot with Google right now as the Jews on November 23, 1939. By taking this action, Google is promoting the death of innocents. They are ensuring that women do not discover they have other choices besides abortion with this censorship.

Sadly, being executed online is a real possibility for anyone who is IDENTIFIED through this certification process as not offering abortions. Pregnancy centers Facebook pages will likely be next as Facebook is quickly eliminating conservative profiles.

Soon these IT Giants will obviously unite against every conservative agenda – particularly regarding abortion. Since Congressional oversight into the powers of these IT Giants has yet to have an impact on their censorship decisions, our world is literally at their mercy. They are networked strongly together to support abortion during every stage of pregnancy and now, beyond.

No one controls them – not even shareholders. That truth should concern us all.

Jesus spoke to his disciples before sending them out in  Matthew 10:16-17 – “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues.”

In the face of Google’s abortion tyranny, we must now be shrewd, innocent and on guard. We should NOT self-identify through Google’s abortion certification process. Instead, we should simply abandon paid Google advertising completely and begin working toward organic search results.

If we submit to this self-identification, we will be responsible for our own online annihilation. Be sure to share your opinion on Google’s abortion tyranny with local, state and federal representatives. Elected officials seem the only avenue to end this tyrannical abuse.

Instead of wasting your time and endangering your ministry through Google’s abortion certification process, pursue website development companies that offer organic SEO programming (i.e., pregnancycenterwebsites.com). Develop other ways to communicate with donors and clients directly versus on Facebook.

For everyone working to end abortion one life at a time, we have become chained ambassadors of Christ, as outlined in Ephesians 6:18-20 … be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Remember we work for the Creator of the Universe. His ways of advertising to help potential clients find our life support will trump Google every time. Have hope in God’s abilities to fight this battle for us, as reveled in Proverbs 16:7 – When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them.
